The CMYK pack consists of four Air Max styles that feature a Metallic Silver upper and a C/M/Y/K midsole. The Nike Air Stab CMYK features a Metallic Silver Leather/Croc etched Leather upper, a mesh toe box and mid panel, and a Cyan (the C in CMYK) midsole. The Nike Air Stab CMYKs are available now oversea.
The background for the idea:
CMYK (short for cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (Black)) is a subtractive color model. In this way the mixture of ideal CMY colors is subtractive (cyan, magenta, and yellow printed together on white result in black). The CMYK model works by partially, or entirely masking, certain colors on the typically white background. White is the combination of all colors in the RGB-model, while in the CMYK model it’s combining no colors. For example, by mixing in black, you darken or desaturate the color, you subtract brightness from the white paper beneath. By blocking the white paper’s cyan color, the yellow and magenta will shine through, hence the name subtractive color model. And as stated before, fully saturating a point on the paper with cyan, magenta and yellow, will turn that point black. The clever part of this model is that by adding a fourth property “black” you can save lots of color ink. The model is widely used in color printing, since the use of colored ink is more expensive than the cheaper black ink. A negative of a photograph, is using a subtractive model. By shining white light through the negative, you produce the desired colors, by blocking the undesired colors.
