The German festival of Oktoberfest is known the world over by beer lovers who drink until their hearts are content. The festival has been translated in to sneaker from my Nike with these pair of Air Max Limited 2. The kicks feature premium leather (same leather like the Lederhosen) and elements on the kicks, which represent Bavarian culture. The kicks will see a limited run of 3,000 sneakers, which will only be available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Release will be on the 31st August 2007!
The historical background:
The first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.
The festivities began on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17th with a horse race.
In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved forward into September based on the better weatherconditions.
