Nike Air Max 1 QS Microstriped Denim

The new runners out of Beaverton keep on rolling today. Here is a new Nike Air Max 1 QS “Microstriped Denim” that would be right at home conducting a coal-driven train. The upper features blue and white striped denim at varying widths for a slightly disorienting tonal effect. Take a step back and they look more like tonal cobalt, and the white Swoosh, laces and midsole have do a nice job of grounding the textures. Following the texture-as-colour theme the insoles feature a quiltwork grid of as many knit patterns as you could possibly imagine. Keep it glued to NewKicksOnTheBlog for more info on a possible US release.

Nike Air Max 95 Fresh Water

Already arriving at select Nike accounts, we get a look at the iconic Nike Air Max 95 “Fresh Water” in a classic colorway reminiscent of late 90’s color-ups. The kicks feature the Nike Air Max 95’s signature gradient pattern accented with teal or “fresh water” within the air bubble, lace loops and swoosh.

The Nike Air Max 95 was the first of its kind when it was released in 1995. Nike revolutionized running shoes when it released the Air Max 1 in 1987 being the first shoe to have visible Air Max cushioning. The Nike Air Max 95 was the first running shoe in history to have forefoot and heel Air Max cushioning. The Nike Air Max 95 was a huge hit when it was released. It came out in many famous colors that have been retroed many times such as the Neons, Slates, and Emeralds. The Air Max 95 was so successful that it was first “retroed” only 2 years after its release in 1997/1998.

The Air Max 95 was also the first Nike shoe to have an Air Max heel which was compressed to different pressures. The air pressure ranges from a low 5PSI in the back of the heel to 25PSI directly underneath the heel to provide optimal cushioning. Not only did the Air Max units provide second to none cushioning, but it provided great heel support.

Nike Air Jordan V 5 Raging Bull Pack

Just when you thought Jordan Brand was running out of tricks up their sleeve after seeing the crazy Nike Air Jordan 5 “White Patent/Dark Army” pictures this week, it looks like those Nike Air Jordan V´s were only the tip of the iceberg for 2009. It looks like the Jordan Brand designers have been thinking hard about what material best freshens up the Nike Air Jordan V, as the two shoes above have their uppers covered in buttery suede. Rather than just putting out another new colorway for the Defining Moments Package II (DMP II), the two Nike Air Jordan V´s that make up the pack will be rocking a new material as well as new colorways.

One pair looks like it will have an all-red, suede upper accented by black lace eyelets and a 3M tongue while the other pair looks to have the same features but with grey replacing the red on the suede. Both pairs have black soles with the usual icy areas on the out-sole and on the upper’s netting. Stay tuned for more info and better pictures of this pack, as there have been rumblings of a May, 2009 release date.
