Nike Dunk SB Hi Pro Gucci 2009 Quickstrike

A few weeks back, images emerged of a Gucci-looking Nike Dunk Hi Supreme that featured some ostrich skin leather and a gum sole. As happy as people were to see it, it really just made most of them long for the feverishly anticipated Quickstrike re-release of the Nike SB version that much more. To the delight of many, it looks like it’s finally going to happen this winter and here are some sample pics of what the shoe will look like. As you will see, there have been some slight changes made to the ultra-rare 2005 edition.

The 2009 version will feature less fraying around the edges of the denim and also uses a smoother leather on the upper. Also, the new release will sport a fatter tongue, SB laces and a black heel tab instead of a red one. You can see some more photos of the Nike Dunk SB Hi Pro “Gucci” Quickstrike as well as a side by side comparison with the original if you check out that link. Stay tuned for more info on the release as soon as further details become available.

Nike Auto Force 180 “Olympic Colorway”

Monday, June 15th, 2009 | Posted in Auto Force, Sneaker News, Sneakers

Nike Auto Force 180 Olympic Colorway

The Nike Auto Force 180 has made a big splash of late. This new pair hearkens back to the OG colorway that put the Nike Air Force 180 on the map back in 1992. The Nike Auto Force 180 Olympic adds Nike’s signature USA palette of navy blue, red and gold to a white upper. These don’t feature the OG AF180’s Air bubble, so the speckled gradient frame is gone, but the Blazer-like vulcanized sole does well to ground the early 90’s look in the modern aesthetic. Expect these during the Holiday 2009 season, so probably October or November.

Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Chien-Ming Wang”

Nike Air Max 1 Premium Chien-Ming Wang

An integral part of the New York Yankees starting bull-pen, pitcher Chien-Ming Wang had the honor of pitching from the mound at Yankee stadium’s inaugural game. As the pride of Taiwan and a popular Taiwanese figure, Wang was given the opportunity to create and customize his very own Nike Air Max 1 Premium. The result doesn’t stray far from his baseball roots as he combines premium leathers with a symbolic baseball stitching in gold. Subtle and understated hints to his place with the Yankees can be seen via navy #40 embroidery. Rounding out the design are a silhouette of Wang lasered into the tongue and a translucent gold outsole. The shoe will launch on Friday, July 10th at select retailers of Nike in Taiwan with a global release soon after.

Nike Auto Flight “Black/Red” Holiday 09

Friday, June 12th, 2009 | Posted in Auto Flight, Sneaker News, Sneakers

Nike Auto Flight Black/Red Holiday 09

We first showed you a preview of the Nike Auto Flight at the end of April and now some new images have emerged that give us a peek at what these kicks look like in action. Like the Nike Auto Force 180 from a few days back, the Nike Auto Flight takes a classic Nike basketball model (the Nike Air Flight Lite Hi) and fuses it together with a vulcanized Blazer midsole, giving it a more contemporary lifestyle look rather than its original performance basketball aesthetic. This version of the Nike Auto Flight features a Black leather upper with red accents and a White midsole. The color scheme gives the shoe a nice subtle look, but thanks to the super-high cut on these, they will still be sure to draw attention. The Nike Auto Flight is not expected to debut until Nike’s holiday ‘09 collection, but for now, you can check out another image by checking out that link.

Nike Air Jordan 1 Hi Retro “Do the Right Thing” Pack

Nike Air Jordan 1 Hi Retro Do the Right Thing Pack

We first gave you a sneak peek at the Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High Do the Right Thing pack all the way back in February and it seems that there have been some minor changes from the sample images that first surfaced a few months ago. Both pairs still use the same White pebbled leather uppers with metallic accents, but the wildly colorful pattern that appeared on the linings has apparently been replaced with solid accent colors instead. While this takes a little away from the late 80’s vibe, both colorways still pack plenty of retro punch thanks to the classic simplicity and overall clean look. It’s not definite that the patterned linings won’t show up again on the final retail models, but all of the latest samples seem to have abandoned it. Look for both the White/Varsity Red and White/Sea Green versions of the Nike Air Jordan 1 “Do the Right Thing” to drop on July 4th just in time to get fresh for the Independence Day festivities.
