Nike Air Force 1 Low “1World KRINK Set”

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 | Posted in Air Force 1, Sneaker News, Sneakers

Nike Air Force 1 Low 1World KRINK Set

Nike continues its 1World influencer project through October by teaming up with drip artist KR. The artist’s sneaker joins previous Nike Air Force 1´s designed by Rasheed Wallace, ?uestlove, Kaws, and Ladainian Tomlinson. Both the silver and black versions use 3M material throughout the shoe to mimic the way that KRINK paint jumps off of the urban landscape, and KR made a point of getting the infamous paint markers’ logo plastered on the tongue.

Look for the silver editions to drop this month for around $200. If you’re feeling the black, you’re going to have to hit up the artist himself, as those are going to be given to a select group to which he controls the list.

Nike Freestyle Program Doernbecher 2008

In a project originally conceived approximately 5 years ago, the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Program was a philanthropic initiate to help raise money for the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Its premise was to give free reign and creative control over chosen Nike models through a select few inspirational children. Unlike previous years, Nike hoped to create an even bigger splash and raise more funds by opening up the selection of shoes to include some of its most popular releases as well as adding a 6th model. The shoes include popular lifestyle models such as the Air Jordan I, Air Force 1, Free Mary Jane Slip-On as well a more technically-driven style in the Zoom Vomero+ 3. A 6th shoe also includes a commemorative anniversary Air Max 90. In a special charity event a few days ago, a handful of shoes each individually signed by Tiger Woods were auctioned off with all proceeds donated to the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The shoes will be available at Niketown locations as well as Nike.com.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme “Daisuke Matsuzaka”

Thursday, September 4th, 2008 | Posted in Air Force 1, Sneaker News, Sneakers

Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme Daisuke Matsuzaka

Although we have seen early pictures of this Nike Air Force 1 Supreme that is part of the Nike 1World collaboration series of Air Force 1’s with worldwide influencers, the shoes will finally be released officially in Japan in the upcoming weeks. This Nike Air Force 1 was done in collaboration with none other than Boston Red Sox standout, Daisuke Matsuzaka, who worked with Nike to design this Nike Air Force 1. The shoe features an upper that mixes Pony Hair and Exoctic Reptile-esque leather. Daisuke’s explanation for why he chose the materials and Orange color was because he wanted to educate people about the place that the Dragon has in Japanese culture and as far as the Pony hair goes, that was because it was one of the stand out materials Nike showed him. You can also see Daisuke’s “18″ logo on the heel of the shoe that comes in the shape of a Dragon, one of the overarching points of inspiration for this shoe. Please note that this will be strictly a Japan release only.
