Nike Air Jordan 1 Low Puerto Rico National Team

This past season Jordan Brand was a major sponsor of Puerto Rico’s pro basketball league and this summer Jordan Brand will be outfitting the Men’s basketball Puerto Rico National Team for the Beijing Games. Jordan Brands assembled a special release to commemorate the first National team outfitted by JB.

A limited Puerto Rico Air Jordan 1 Low PHAT was released today to only three stores in the US: Shoe Gallery in Miami, House of Hoops in NYC, and Goliath in Spanish Harlem. It is said that only 24 pairs were released per door making the total number floating around at just 72 pairs. This was also the first release of the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low PHAT. The “PHAT” Jordan 1 has more padding around the collar and tongue of the shoe much like an SB Dunk. In addition to the sneakers, Jordan Brand produced hats, T-shirts, and practice jersey to hook with the kicks.

Spike Lee recently visited the Complex office to talk about his court-side rivalry with Jack Nicholson, his beef with Rudi, and his new school for sports journalism.

He walked in supporting his choice for ‘08 as well as some exclusive Spizikes made just for him that he refers to as his “New York Knicks joints”. Spike also talks about how his relationship with Nike and Jordan started and they continue to support him and his work.

Nike and Michael Jordan made a $250,000 scholarship contribution for Spike’s new academic program which Spike said was “basically all the money they made on the Spizikes”. Let’s hope Spike isn’t teaching math at his new school.

Not only is Jordan Brand going to release a new Nike Air Jordan 6 “Olympic”, but they will also release a new Nike Air Jordan 7 “Olympic”. The Nike Air Jordan 7 is part of the upcoming Celebration Pack. According to the provided info, the artwork on the Nike Air Jordan 7 was inspired by the work of Miro (Barcelona artist). Everything ties back to the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.

Set to release in Barcelona on July 5th, and the following month they will release worldwide. It’s being said that this will be a very limited release.

The 2008 Summer Olympics will take place in Beijing, China, so Jordan Brand decided to release a special Nike Air Jordan 6 colorway for this occasion. The colorway is totally different from the original Nike Air Jordan 6 Retro “Olympic” and they feature a multi colored midsole.

The colorful midsole pays homeage to the five Olympic Rings which was founded in 1913 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin. It’s been 8 years since Jordan heads got some Nike Air Jordan 6 “Olympic” love. The drought comes to an end this year, and the Nike Air Jordan 6 Retro “Olympic´s” are set to release on June 7th.
