In a few more weeks Nike Sportswear will release their new Nike Air Classic BW Gen II, an updated version of the Nike Air Classic BW that was originally introduced back in 1991. The new Nike Air Classic BW Gen II keeps the original silhouette of the BW in tact while updating the upper with a sonic welded no seam upper along with infusing one of Nike’s newest innovations, Torch, into different parts of the shoe. Torch is a 3-layer textile that is not only lightweight and breathable but also helps with the moisture management inside of the sneaker. Here you can see a detailed image of the first colorway that will be released in Spring 2010, in Black and White. The shoes laces have been changed to the new Nike (Lace up. Save lives.) shoelaces.

A new colorway of yet another classic Nike Retro Running sneaker, the Nike Air Classic BW, has been released and this time it’s Black, White, and Neon Orange. This colorway of the Nike Air Classic BW is somewhat reminiscent of the original Persian Violet colorway, however it still features enough differences to give it a fresh new look. The shoe consists of a mostly Black mesh and leather upper with other parts of the shoe being filled in with White and of course Neon Orange on the Swoosh and lining to give it a pop. While it may not receive the fanfare enjoyed by some other classic Nike Air Max models, the Nike Air Classic BW has been quietly making a comeback this year in both new and OG colorways. You already noticed the new version that used a black/white/red color scheme and now we have a look at a similar version that swaps out the white for grey to sport a slightly darker look. The shoe features a predominantly Black synthetic upper with sections of ballistic mesh and a reflective 3M strip running through the design. Additional Grey and Sport Red accents are scattered throughout, creating some bold contrast against the dark base. This Nike Air Classic BW is available now as a JDsports exclusive, so if you’re feeling these, be aware that that’s the only place you will find them.

Nike’s Fall 2009 retro Air Max line look pretty nice with solid colors for a number of the classics. The Nike Air Classic BW will make a nice come back with two colorways inspired by the Nike Air Safari 87 and utilizing a small amount of the Safari Pattern. The Nike Air Structure Triax 91 comes in two flavors as well and in nice Fall colors and nice patterns. A surprised is the Nike Air 180 Aquamarine colorway’s return, but this would be nearly 3 years since the 3 Decades of Cushioning release. A sure hit will be the Nike Air Max 1 in a purple safari colorway which has hints of the Nike Air Max 1 “Viotech” for several years back.

Before moving on to the anticipated Nike Air Classic BW “Persian” in 2009, Nike still has a couple of BW´s left in the system, including, the Nike Air Classic BW “Black/Varsity Maize/Yellow”. Opting against the beloved mesh toebox that got the a second look, Nike instead choose to use a combo upper of Black leather and Black suede. The Black leather acts as the base for the body and the Black suede performs the trimming duties. To add some pop to the BW, the Nike Air Classic BW “Black/Varsity Maize/Yellow” features a bright Yellow Swoosh, mudguard, and visibile Air Unit, plus, a Yellow hit at the BW embroidery on the tongue.

The Nike Air Classic BW is often overlooked by other Nike models that are usually more hyped, but surely this time will be an exception. This Nike Air Classic BW is inspired by the original Nintendo Entertainment System that was invented in the 1980’s. Featuring many attributes of the game console, this pair of Nike Air Classic BW was released this week at certain Nike retailers. The two tones of gray used on this pair is split by a red stripe that goes around the whole shoe. The effort put into this shoe by Nike is evident by the detail that can be seen through all the references to the NES such as the select/start buttons on the upper and the repeating image of the control pad seen from the swoosh on one side to the swoosh on the other side. If you are interested, you might want to head quick to your Nike retailer because these will sell out quick.

The Nike Air Classic BW is definitely a classic in just about ever sense of the word. With a streamlined design, good colorways, and of course the Nike brand of quality assurance behind it, they’re some of the nicest kicks out there. This particular pair of Nike Air Classic BW’s comes adorned in large gauge mesh, giving it a very unique look that a lot of mesh fans will definitely appreciate. While maybe not the most impactful of all kicks, it’s the details that matter most, and with the sick material choices, slick outline, and general clean looks of these shoes, they should prove to be a hit among those that like their sneakers as clean as possible.
