Nike Air Force 1 Low Bespoke Makoto

Makoto of Five Star Japan flew half way across the world to New York City to be able to customize his own pair of Bespoke Nike Air Force 1’s at Nike’s 21 Mercer space in SOHO. The result is a colorful, all-over Cement print, Nike Air Force 1 Supreme. The entire upper of the shoe uses a number of different colors of the Cement print while the inside collar lining and outsole of the shoes use an Aqua color while the shoelaces are Orange. Like all Nike Air Force 1’s “Bespoke”, Makoto’s pair is a 1 of 1.

Nike Air Force 1 Low x Dunk Low SB White Supreme

Another highlight from the Nike Playmakers Event the other night were these Nike Air Force 1 x Dunk SB Low “White Supremes” we spotted in the collection of All Day. If you don’t remember, DJ Clark Kent was spotted wearing the same shoes in the equally dope black colorway a couple months ago at a Nike Sportswear event. The shoes feature the classic Nike SB Low white Supreme upper with a white, Air Force 1 sole that has a blue out-sole to go with the inside of the shoe. As with the rest of the shoes of these nature, these will not release to the public. They were created for the original members of the Nike Skateboarding team only, which is unfortunate for all you Nike Air Force 1 fans.

Nike Air Force 1 Low x Dunk Low SB Tiffany

Here is another world premier on NewKicksontheBlog. Back in late October, DJ Clark Kent grabbed us and told us to take out our camera for one of the most amazing sneakers on anyone’s feet. It was the Nike Air Force 1 x Dunk Low SB “Black Supreme” which fused the upper of the infamous Nike Dunk Low “Black Supreme” and the sole of the Nike Air Force 1. Last night at the Playmakers III event in New York, DJ Clark Kent premiered the Nike Dunk SB Tiffany version which again fuses an SB Dunk upper with an Nike Air Force 1 sole. This sneaker is of course in the collection of DJ Clark Kent and just as a side note, the general public will not be able to get their hands on them. Unfortunately.

Nike Air Force 1 Low “iD Bespoke” by The Mayor

Nike Air Force 1 Low iD Bespoke by The Mayor

The Mayor (not the one who tried to increase the legal term limits of his office, but a different Mayor who has much better taste when it comes to kicks) has been at the epicenter of all things Nike Air Force 1 since news broke of his finally hitting his 1000th pair landmark in is personal Air Force 1 collection. In case anyone was wondering, the 1000th pair cooked up for Mayor at the Nike Innovation Kitchen was in no way the mark of a slowdown in the Mayor’s collection or creativity. Mayor shows, with his newest Nike Air Force 1 Low “Nike iD Bespoke”, that his influential mark on the sneakerworld is still very much growing.

Most recently, The Mayor made another trip to the Nike iD Bespoke studio at 21 Mercer Street in NYC to play around with some of the new options available for customizing and personalizing his muse of footwear; the Nike Air Force 1. After brainstorming and playing around with a lot of different ideas, Mayor finally came up with the fresh Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bespoke” you see above.

The shoe, which just arrived at the Bespoke studio today, features a lot of lux features including a dark, denim upper with gold stitching and a gold insole. To go with the clean details on the upper, Mayor chose to construct the swoosh, heel tag and tongue label in red, patent leather. The sole is white with a clear outsole on the final product, but Mayor’s initial intention was to have the outsole be colored a solid red in order to match the red details on the upper, but there was some miscommunication in the outcome of design process. Regardless, the shoe is definitely a dope look. Another cool feature are the lacelocks, which are stainless steel with “MYR” elegantly printed on top. The shoes come with the original factory tag from the well known Feng Tey factory in Taiwan, which is an accessory we usually see on samples. If you like what you see, and you are going to be (or are in) New York City, take a trip down to Nike Sportswear and have a go at cooking up a dope, one-of-a-kind Nike Air Force 1.

A Conversation with “Undefeated’s Eddie Cruz”

A Conversation with Undefeated’s Eddie Cruz

Everyday, we post some of the most unique sneakers that generate buzz and get people talking around the world. Whether it’s the colorway, inspiration, or even nostalgia, shoes speak to us. Especially in sneaker culture, shoes give us a sense of self and we identify with them like hip-hop music. It’s almost like an exclusive club and sneaker brands are fully aware of our need to find comfort in knowing that there’s a small likelihood that someone else will be wearing our shoe when we step outside. So where do sneakerheads like our readers go to find these limited kicks?

There’s a good chance that you’ll find them at Undefeated, one of the most recognized sneaker boutiques in the world. Whether its the latest colorway or a highly-anticipated ultra-rare release, it’s almost guaranteed that you can find it at one of the five Undefeated locations across the globe along with a line of kids 50 deep.

Nicekicks got a chance to chat with Eddie Cruz, a co-owner of Undefeated, to discuss topics that include the future of the sneaker industry and the highly-coveted UNDFTD Air Jordan IV.

Interviewer: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. You’re a co-owner of Undefeated, but you’ve also been in the streetwear industry for years having a hand in major brands like Union, Stussy, and Supreme. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background in footwear.

Eddie Cruz: You’re very welcome, it’s my pleasure. I grew up on the streets of NY during the late 80’s and early 90’s. Although I regret it now, school wasn’t really for me. To stay on point, I rolled with heads that were running the downtown scene. That’s where I got my education. Since then, I’ve managed to create and maintain a business based on good friendships and just living the lifestyle.

To the readers that might not know, what is the concept behind Undefeated and what inspired the brand?

Undefeated is a well edited sneaker shop, carrying the best of what we feel major sneaker brands have to offer. We wanted to give people like you and me an environment that they could relate to in terms of music & art, and salespeople that understood our culture. Since then, we learned very fast that it takes more than just carrying sneakers to survive. Hence, we created a brand based on sports culture.

Undefeated is unique because it focuses on sports but from a street/urban perspective. What are the biggest challenges you face in maintaining the brand between the two? Also, as the brand expands into apparel, events, and music, how do you ensure that sneakers don’t get left out in the mix?

My partner James Bond and I have made a conscious effort to let sneakers take precedence over anything else. With regards to sports, it’s very simple. We are the biggest sports fanatics in the world. Every sport. With the Undefeated brand, we pretty much let sports and military culture influence the design.

With six locations worldwide, the AT&T commercial, and the Entourage episode, Undefeated reach goes beyond the sneaker community. As one of the first sneaker boutiques, how has the market changed from the earlier days? How do you measure success and where do you see the market heading?

Major sneaker brands were making fresh sh*t. It was a natural thing. Now-a-days, they have created different tiers for sneakerheads. This worked for a while, but now it seems forced and played out. People want non-descript, wearable kicks. With regards to how I measure success, if you’re happy with what you’re doing, and you’re making an honest living, you’ve won. I think younger sneaker brands like Clae and Supra have tapped into something that kids want. It’s easier for smaller companies to stay on point because they work closer to the seasons. The majors are like 18 months out. Feel me?
