Nike Air Jordan “Evolution Video”

Thursday, May 21st, 2009 | Posted in Air Jordan, Sneaker Culture

Some of you may have already seen this video as part of the Ultimate Jordan DVD, but for those who haven’t had the pleasure, here you go. This short video documents the evolution of the Air Jordan all the way from the beginnings at Nike to the birth of the Jordan Brand. Included are clips of interviews, ad campaigns, game highlights and behind the scenes looks at some of the photo/video shoots and design meetings that helped to make these kicks what they are today. With a little help from Mars Blackmon, Bugs Bunny and others, this brief retrospective paints a nice picture of how the Air Jordan mystique came to be. For the younger generation of sneakerheads who have only known most of the Air Jordan sneakers as Retro releases, this is a great crash course in the road to greatness followed by Michael and his revered arsenal of kicks, as well as a highlight reel of one of the most brilliantly marketed brands in history.

Nike Air Jordan Force IV (4) “White/Cement/Black”

Friday, April 24th, 2009 | Posted in Air Jordan, Sneaker News, Sneakers

Nike Air Jordan Force IV 4 White/Cement/Black

Along with the Nike Air Jordan Force IX, the Nike Air Jordan IV x Air Force 1 Fusion seems to be among the most well-received models so far in the line. The secret is that on both pairs, with the exception of the midsoles, the shoes stays so close to the original Air Jordan designs that they are pretty hard to criticize, even for some of the most fervent Fusion haters. This pair of Nike Air Jordan Force IV’s also has something extra going for them. The classic White/Cement/Black colorway is so revered that it is almost impossible to get wrong, especially on a shoe that looks so similar to the Nike Air Jordan IV. Even sneakerheads who have been hating on Fusions since the beginning may have to come out of the woodwork to cop a pair of these. These will hit retail stores in the next weeks.

Nike Air Jordan V 5 “Raging Bull Pack”

Nike Air Jordan V 5 Raging Bull Pack

Just when you thought Jordan Brand was running out of tricks up their sleeve after seeing the crazy Nike Air Jordan 5 “White Patent/Dark Army” pictures this week, it looks like those Nike Air Jordan V´s were only the tip of the iceberg for 2009. It looks like the Jordan Brand designers have been thinking hard about what material best freshens up the Nike Air Jordan V, as the two shoes above have their uppers covered in buttery suede. Rather than just putting out another new colorway for the Defining Moments Package II (DMP II), the two Nike Air Jordan V´s that make up the pack will be rocking a new material as well as new colorways.

One pair looks like it will have an all-red, suede upper accented by black lace eyelets and a 3M tongue while the other pair looks to have the same features but with grey replacing the red on the suede. Both pairs have black soles with the usual icy areas on the out-sole and on the upper’s netting. Stay tuned for more info and better pictures of this pack, as there have been rumblings of a May, 2009 release date.

Nike Air Jordan 1 Hi Black Laser

Samples of a potential Nike Air Jordan I Hi release have been released. They feature a black leather upper with laser inserts on the toe box and side panels, also sport a white sole and gum rubber sole. Unlike the glut of Nike Air Jordan I releases these are noticeably closer to the originals with a higher cut. No details are known regarding its release date but fingers crossed and hope that Jordan Brand drops the Nike Air Jordan 1 Hi “Black Laser” sometime soon.

Nike Air Jordan XX3 “Desert Eagle” PE

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 | Posted in Air Jordan, Sneaker News, Sneakers

Nike Air Jordan XX3 Desert Eagle PE

Several months ago Jordan Brand hosted their annual All-American game with the nations top high school basketball players. This year each player was outfitted for the game in the own personalized PE in an exclusive colorway as well as their nickname stitched to the heel just like Jordan Brand Team members in the league receive.

Devin Ebanks of St. Thomas More (Oakdale, CT) was treated with this pair with his nickname “Desert Eagle” added to the ankle. Either Devin received extra pairs not worn in the game or Nike had some back ups floating around, but either way, they found their way to osneaker.com. Devin will have to wait until he gets into the NBA for his next set of Jordan PE’s as he will be playing next year at University of Indiana.

Hypothetically, if this colorway came to stores, would you grab them?
