Back in 2006 Nike SB planned to release a pair of Nike Dunk High SB “Gucci” colorway as a quickstrike. It was originally be a part of the team manager series and designed by Girl Skateboards. Unfortunately, the project was scrapped due to some issue inside the Crailtap group. As a result, there were only less than 30 pairs sample existing in the market.

But in the forth quarter of 2009 we will have this Gucci Nike Dunk SB Hi back into the market. The shoe is the same color scheme as the 2006 sample with black denim toe cap and heel cap, deep forest toe box and side panel, and red swoosh.

Originally we figured we would be a good boy and not post them up since the embargo date was set for something like April 2nd. The nice treatment the Nike Air Jordan I (1) has been receiving from the designers at Jordan Brand will continue well into 2009. News just broke of an Nike Air Jordan Retro I “Hare” to be released during the spring of 2009. Just in case you don’t remember, the “Hare” nickname comes from 1992 when the Air Jordan VII was advertised in commercials featuring Michael Jordan along with Bugs Bunny. In the commercial, Bugs Bunny differentiates between “Air Jordan” (MJ) and “Hare Jordan” (The Shoes).

While the preliminary catalog images of the Nike Air Jordan I featuring the “Hare” treatment don’t reveal too many details, we can get a fairly good impression of the two colorways along with some of the design additions. One pair will come in stealth/black-light silver-pink clay-white while the other will be featured in a white/light silver-true red colorway. Other than the colorways, we can see that the “Hare” version of the Nike Air Jordan Jumpman will be located on each tongue, surrounded by a design similar to what we have seen on the Air Jordan VII. Look for these to drop as a Quickstrike release set for April, 2009 (maybe around Easter considering the bunny?).

Another release of the always timeless Nike Air Jordan 1’s are slated for 2009. This release is said to draw inspiration from the Spike Lee directed 1989 film Do The Right Thing with the White/Varsity Red colorway said to represent Sal’s Pizza from the film. Both sneakers have a similar look and feel to the OG metallic colorways of the Nike Air Jordan 1, which are welcomed. Both also feature a colorfully printed sockliner influenced by the movie’s poster. Retail price is currently said to be $110, however, a specific set release date is not yet known so keep an eye out for more info as it comes in.

De La Soul just leaked some info in a recent interview about their 2009 project with Nike. They never said if the project was with Nike SB, but we all assumed that seeing that the two linked up back in 2005. NSB reports that this Nike Dunk Low Metallic Silver/Black” is based off of their 2001 AOI: Bionix album cover. The cover features all three members dressed in silver astronaut suits, and the Nike Dunk´s resemble the suits due to the use of metallic silver.

According to the info provided, these were originally set to release in 2006, but they scrapped and are “rumored” to drop in 2009. This makes perfect sense, but time will tell everything. Stay tuned to NewKicksOnTheBlog for more updates on this release.

Here is a Nike SB’s update for September. While many releases may have been seen in varying bits and pieces, at least here’s the official word from the horse’s mouth. Leading the way this month is the highly detailed Nike Dunk Hi “Duct Tape” which features a cracked leather upper, duct tape printed canvas paneling and a thick-ass nylon tongue. Other memorable releases are the Nike Dunk Low “Pigeon” inspired P-rod II and a Nike Zoom Tre A.D in “blue/orange”. Check your local Nike SB dealer for availability as these should be hitting retailers soon if not already.

This weekend was the release of the long anticipated Nike Air Force One “?uestlove”. The night before the actual release plenty of shoe fiends camped overnight at the location to guarantee themselves a pair, and of course to be the first ones to flaunt them off to their buddies. Celebrity friend Bun B from UGK even showed up to support and took the time out to mingle with the dedicated shoe heads. ?uestlove was very generous in making sure his supporters were very comfortable, throughout the day he had brought them 17 boxes of pizza as well as bottled water and even signed autographs and took pictures. ?uestlove was actually the first person to technically purchase his shoe. The first 5 customers in line got their pair free courtesy of the man himself.
